Headlining the Friday night entertainment is the Avery Langford Band. Langford is the 20-year-old son of Cameron and Kim Langford of Warren and comes from a musical family tradition. His band includes veteran local musicians and will showcase legendary steel guitar player Gene Simmons, who recently performed with Ward Davis at the Grand Ole Opry. The show is expected to include country hits from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, along with Southern gospel selections.
The 47th Lions Club Gospel Music Jamboree will feature Lisemby at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at Immanuel Baptist Church. The event is free.
Hispanic Night will feature Conjunto La Nuevo Fortaleza, a group based out of Ruston, Louisiana. The group describes itself as "The pure strength of norteño music," a popular subgenre of Mexican Regional music from Northern Mexico that blends traditional Mexican folk with European polkas and waltzes.
Bottomland is a southeast Texas blend of southern rock and country roots featuring Cannon Brand and Justin Lane Gates. The newly formed duo brings together two singer-songwriters who have paid their dues in honky-tonks and listening rooms across the Lone Star State. Their collaboration highlights both artists while producing an unmistakable sound that is drawing attention from fans and the music industry. In an era of viral trends, Bottomland is building its name the old-fashioned way: on the road.
