Clydine Preston, 1940-2024

Clydine Preston, 84, of Harrell, passed away November 12, 2024.  He was born February 28, 1940, to Sandy and Eva Preston. 

Clydine dedicated many years to working as a logger at Potlatch Corporation before retiring. After retirement, to keep himself busy he continued to serve his community by helping others around town. Known for his kindhearted nature, his genuine compassion and generosity deeply touched all who knew him. His warm smile and gentle spirit left a memorable imprint, and his kindness will be remembered fondly by friends, family and acquaintances alike.

Clydine was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Banks, AR. where Rev. Calvin Warner presides. His faith was an integral part of his life and provided him with much comfort and community. In his leisure time, he enjoyed working outdoors, particularly hauling wood, which kept him active and connected to nature.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Kathy Forman; son, Larry Lambert; grandson, Langston Hampton; sisters, Louis, Linda Preston; brothers, Lonnie, Charles, OC, IC, Jewel Otis, Hosie Lee and Lee Ester Preston.

He is survived by his wife, Lola; 5 children, Kimberly Preston-Mackey, Clydine Tory Preston, Sylvia McCullough (Ron), Ricky Lambert (Lynette), Sharon Hampton (Harvey); sister, Emma Hamilton; 16 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was held November 23 at First Baptist Church in Harrell, AR. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery, Hampton. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
