Nina Jane (Rice) Summerland, 1949-2025

Nina Jane (Rice) Summerland, age 75, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Bradley County Medical Center in Warren, Arkansas.  She was born October 11,1949, in Warren, Arkansas to RC Rice and Nina Dean “Tency” Sutton Rice.

She was employed with Illinois Central School Bus Service and Hermitage Public Schools for many years.  Jane enjoyed sewing, crocheting, riding around on the farm with her three dogs (Puppy Chow, Ruger, and Stella) watching over the cows and spending time with her family and friends.

She is also proceeded in death by husband, Joe Summerland, her parents, RC and Nina Rice and grandsons, Justin Michael Ralls and Ryan Smith.

She is survived by her children, son, Jerry (Lisa) Summerland, Mazon, IL, Belinda (Mike) Harr, Morris, IL, Brenda Dooley, Mazon, IL and Betty Jo Summerland, Morris, IL; grandchildren, Brandon (Brittany) Countryman, Matt (Rachael) Harr, Amanda (Myles) Scott-Stirn, Meegan Dooley, Rylee (Ryne) O’Rourke, Mason Dooley, Lauren Dooley, Morgan David and Jace Summerland; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Robbie Rice and Rita (Rodney) Boykin; brothers, Henry Clay (Linda) Rice, Ronnie (BillyJean) Rice and Allen (Melissa) Rice and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were 2:00PM Thursday, March 13th at Antioch Cemetery, south of Hamburg, AR. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home.
