STAR CITY, Ark. – The Warren Lumberjacks fell 1-0 on the road Tuesday night in a tightly contested match against the Star City Bulldogs, marking just the second loss of the season for the Jacks.

Star City struck early, converting a penalty in the 11th minute to take a 1-0 lead. The home side nearly added another just minutes before the half, but Warren goalkeeper Alex Cortes made a crucial save on a free kick in the 20th minute to keep it close.
The second half remained even for much of the opening stretch, with both teams battling for possession. In the 66th minute, Star City hit the post on a dangerous chance, and just moments later saw a player sent off after receiving a second yellow card.
Warren’s best opportunity to equalize came in the 74th minute, when the Lumberjacks were awarded a penalty of their own. However, the Star City keeper came up with a key save to preserve the shutout.
The loss drops Warren to 8-2-2 on the season.
The Lumberjacks return home Thursday night to host Lonoke in what will be Senior Night at Lumberjack Stadium.
