Van Franklin Temple, aged 94, peacefully departed this life on Resurrection Sunday, April 20, 2025, to be with the Lord. Born on December 21, 1930, in Johnsonville, Arkansas, Vann was a beloved figure whose life profoundly touched many. He was preceded in death by his cherished parents, David and Maude Orr Temple of Johnsville, Arkansas, and his brothers: Purman, Lamar, B.W., and Bayne Temple, along with his sisters, Maxine Temple Jones and Christine Temple Taylor. Van is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Annette Freer Davis Temple, and their children: Debbie Jefferson and husband Bob, David Temple and wife Kendy, Rhonda Miller and husband Tom, Traci Brewer and husband Rod, and Ronnie Davis and wife Nancy. He was a proud grandfather to Torie Cook, Halley Temple, Brian Winders, Breanna Zacca, Raquel Dilday, Raunie Brewer, Brandon Brewer, Jennifer Taylor, Jennifer Orr, and Emily Austill, as well as a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren. A man of deep faith, Van loved the Lord and cherished the Word of God. He was a dedicated prayer warrior and served his family, church, country, and community with unwavering commitment. He left an incredible legacy for his family. Van had a vibrant spirit filled with interests that included a love for fox hunting, deer hunting, fishing, and supporting the Razorbacks. He was an enthusiastic supporter of his children’s sports and activities as they grew up. Above all, he was a man who loved his family dearly. Van’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, as he was a source of love, wisdom, and strength. He will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.
