HERMITAGE, Ark.— Behind a dominant performance in the circle and timely offense, Hermitage secured a 3-1 victory over Lafayette County on Thursday.

Aubrey Ramos led the way for the Lady Hermits, delivering a complete-game effort. Ramos struck out 12 batters over seven innings, allowing just two hits and one run while walking two.

The game remained a pitcher’s duel early, but Hermitage broke through in the second inning, manufacturing a run on a steal of home to take a 1-0 lead.

Lafayette County answered in the fourth inning, tying the game at 1-1 on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Burdette.

Hermitage responded quickly in the bottom half of the inning. Nae Nae Tatum delivered the key hit of the night, singling in two runs to give the Lady Hermits a 3-1 advantage they would not relinquish.

At the plate, Kayleea Keller paced Hermitage, going 2-for-3. Keller also made an impact on the bases, stealing five bags as part of a nine-steal performance by the Lady Hermits. Ramos added two walks, helping Hermitage draw five free passes overall.

Tatum finished 1-for-3 with a team-high two RBIs, while Keller scored two of the team’s three runs.

Defensively, Hermitage was sharp throughout, committing no errors and turning a double play. Madison Outlaw led the team with 11 chances in the field.

For Lafayette County, Davis went the distance in the circle, allowing four hits and three runs (all earned) over six innings while striking out eight and walking five.

Hermitage totaled four hits in the game compared to two for Lafayette County, making the most of its opportunities with aggressive baserunning and clutch hitting.
