MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello football team will travel to Ada, Oklahoma, on Thursday to take on East Central University for its week two contest of the 2026 campaign.
The Boll Weevils hit the road for Ada following a tough 21-12 loss at home to Southeastern Oklahoma State University in week one.
First-year head coach Gary Goff had this to say heading into the contest: “We are anxious to get back on the field. The team has had a very physical week of practice as we prepared for a very good football team. The first road trip of the season will be a great test for us.”

PREGAME NOTES
The Boll Weevils are currently sitting 0-1, following a tough home loss to Southeastern Oklahoma State in week one. Monticello sits 11th in the GAC in both scoring and total offense, averaging 12.0 points per contest and 184 yards of offense per game. The Boll Weevils rank 11th in the conference in rushing, averaging 58 yards per contest. Defensively, UAM ranks fifth in total defense, surrendering 322 yards per game, and seventh in scoring defense, allowing 21 points per game. Offensively, running back Dave Alston leads the running game, averaging 30 yards a contest. Isaiah Roberts and Michael Lott are the top targets in the receiving game for UAM, with Roberts totaling 55 yards on four receptions and Lott totaling 54 yards on three receptions.
LAST MEETING
Arkansas-Monticello lost to the Tigers 38-13 at home in the 2025 season. The Boll Weevils posted 280 yards of total offense in the contest. Quarterback Tavion Faulk led the air attack, connecting with 10 different receivers on 16 total completions for 203 passing yards. Glen Cage led the rushing game with 46 net yards on 11 attempts, averaging 4.2 yards per carry and a long of 12. The UAM defense was led by Terrell Taylor and Ghee Evans who saw a combined 14 total tackles. Taylor grabbed 8 total with three assisted tackles and five solo with a sack for 1.0 yard, while Evans grabbed four solo and two assists.
All-TIME SERIES
UAM trails the all-time series, 14-5, with the last win for the Boll Weevils in 2019. The home contest concluded with a 49-46 win. The largest margin of victory for the Weevils came during the 2017 season with a 49-7 win. The Weevils average 22.32 points against the Tigers.
