WARREN, Ark. — The Warren Branch Library will host a free Hands-Only CPR class on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the library, located at 115 W. Cypress in Warren.
The event is part of the American Heart Association’s “Libraries with Heart” initiative and is designed to teach community members the basics of Hands-Only CPR and how to respond during a cardiac emergency.
According to information included in promotional materials for the event, bystanders currently perform CPR only 46 percent of the time during cardiac emergencies. The American Heart Association also states that Hands-Only CPR can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival.
The class will teach participants two basic steps to potentially help save a life: calling 911 and pushing hard and fast in the center of the chest.
Organizers also noted that more than 70 percent of cardiac arrests happen at home, highlighting the importance of CPR knowledge for everyday citizens.
The event is locally sponsored by the Blue & You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas and is being held in collaboration with the Southeast Arkansas Regional Library system.
