WARREN, Ark. (2-22-26) – The Bradley County Rural Fire Department is urging residents to avoid outdoor burning due to increased wildfire danger across Arkansas.
In a Facebook post Sunday morning, the department warned, “PLEASE DO NOT BURN!!! Low Humidity and Winds Do Not Mix!” The post included the Arkansas wildfire danger map as of 8:27 a.m. on Feb. 22, 2026.
According to the map, much of the state is under moderate wildfire danger, while several counties in northwest Arkansas are listed at high risk. The wildfire danger levels are determined by fuel conditions, drought status, and long-term weather forecasts, and are categorized based on how easily fires can start and how difficult they may be to contain.
Although Bradley County is currently shown in the moderate category, fire officials stressed that dry conditions combined with low humidity and wind can quickly cause fires to spread.
Residents are encouraged to monitor updates from local fire departments and the Arkansas Forestry Division and to refrain from any outdoor burning until conditions improve.
