The City of Kingsland is partnering with Communities Unlimited to offer a free Grant Readiness Class for nonprofit organizations, municipalities, small businesses, churches and others interested in pursuing grant funding.
The class will be held Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 2 p.m. in the Community Room at Kingsland City Hall, located at 421 Main Street.
Participants will learn about the differences between federal, state and private foundation funding, as well as what organizations must do to become grant-ready. The session will also cover essential documents commonly required by funders and strategies for locating and evaluating potential funding opportunities.
Additional topics will include reviewing requests for proposals, researching potential funders, recognizing warning signs that a grant may not be the right fit and developing realistic expectations about the grant process.
Organizers said the class is intended both for those who are just beginning to explore grant opportunities and those looking to improve an existing grant-writing strategy.
