NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Arkansas Division of Emergency Management (ADEM) has achieved accreditation through the Emergency Management Accreditation Program (EMAP), a nationally recognized standard of excellence for emergency management organizations.
EMAP accreditation is a prestigious honor awarded to programs that demonstrate full compliance with the Emergency Management Standard, certified by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). This accomplishment reflects ADEM’s ongoing commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness, response, and recovery capabilities for the safety of all Arkansans. Accreditation is valid for five years.
“This accreditation reflects the dedication of our staff and partners across Arkansas,” said ADEM Director AJ Gary. “It demonstrates our shared commitment to maintaining the highest level of readiness and ensuring our communities have the support they need before, during, and after disasters.”
To earn this accreditation, ADEM worked closely with partner agencies, personnel, and subject‑matter experts throughout the state. This achievement underscores that ADEM – and its state, local, and private‑sector partners – maintains the highest level of readiness to support communities during any disaster.
